Destruction leads to rebirth. Such is the cycle of consciousness and the physical universe. A terrible destruction was experienced by Hiroshima, Japan more than 50 years ago; yet today it has been reborn as the beautiful and inspiring International City of Peace. This was the location for the International Peace Course in December 1999, and no setting could have been more appropriate for this course. As the only American
Trainer present, I was very happy to be there to feel the empowerment of the whole creation.
From the North and the South of Japan, 24 Avatar Masters joined the delivery. Star's Edge Trainer Yuji Takashi and Star Master Toshiko Kamada played key organizational roles in coordinating and supporting all the Masters. Registration day came, and 42 students arrived for The Avatar Course.
The course location was the Life Retreat Center situated on a hill overlooking a picturesque bay and the barrier islands that protect the city from Pacific Ocean storms. Every morning the Masters met before course hours to plan the day. Hearts stopped at the breath taking view of the sun coming up over the mountains on the islands.
The level of honesty as the students shared their experiences with each other was exquisite- and their intention to take responsibility for their lives was clear.
It was a very Zen, very inspiring way to start each day. The course had a wonderful vibration from the moment it started. Both Masters and students viewed the delivery as a personal contribution to peace and enlightenment on the planet. The Masters were skillful in their instruction and coaching of the Avatar tools,
and the students were quick to learn to use them effectively. The students shared their experiences with each other, and their level of honesty was exquisite. Clearly, their intention was to take responsibility for their lives.
The students and Masters staying at the Life Center had the opportunity to eat together and be together in addition to the course hours. A level of easy communication, tolerance, and appreciation for each other's viewpoints grew stronger as the week went on. What was really striking was the level of caring and support that the students developed for each other. It was hard to believe that most of the participants hadn't been long time friends. That sense of love and support inspired the team of Masters to do their very best to make this delivery as wonderful and enlightening as possible.
Of course, when people dig deeply into their own resisted aspects, there are a few moments of friction. We didn't totally transcend our earthly conditioning. But since everyone had the Avatar tools to use, we were able to
handle creations easily and always moved back into a space of cooperation and appreciation.
It was this space of cooperation and appreciation that empowered us and made the depth of our connection so sacred. The space was self-generating; one act of cooperation evoked more cooperation. One act of appreciation evoked more appreciation. It was very powerful and still fun and light. It wasn't just a win/win situation. There were actually many layers to it more of a win/win/win/win.
Sunday night, after the students completed their final processes, we all sat quietly and enjoyed our last sunset together. There was really nothing to say. We experienced being part of an expanded consciousness that was communicating with the language of the
heart - and there truly were no words to speak. Nor can these words come close to describing what it was like. The essential spirit of peace had been created in each of us, and it would be with us as we went back to our homes and our individual lives. That connected spirit will always continue to grow in each of
us. One day, it will be everywhere on the planet.
